The Football Club Dobrudja has been created in 1947 after Vihyr Unak and Spartac have been united.
The team has been most of the years in the Bulgarian Second Division, usually among the first 8 teams. But for few times Dobrudja has been succesfully promoted in the First Division where in 1995/96 become 7th. Since 1991 the team plays for 9 years in the Bulgarian First Division. During that period the club has produced a number of good players, who became more or less a known names in the modern football.

Svetoslav Todorov was bought from Litex Lovech, then later he played for West Ham/Portsmouth (become the Championship Goalscorer when Pompey earned promotion in the Premiership), later played for Charlton and now is back to Litex Lovech.
Milen Petkov was bought from CSKA Sofia, where he become international and later is bought from AEK Athens where he become champion of Greece. Now he's back to Bulgaria and plays for Cherno More.
Svetoslav Petrov was bought from CSKA Sofia, where he become champion of Bulgaria several times, later he plays in Azerbadjan and China, where in both places he is champion with his teams.
Petre Grigorash is Romanian striker, who after playing for Dobrudja, become playing coach in Farul Constanca (Romania). Now he is head coach of Politehnika.
Serg Jofu, Nikolay Todorov become players f Levski Sofia where they become champions of Bulgaria.
